From a young age, I recognized the importance of creating equity and ownership in order control my destiny. My parents immigrated from India the year before I was born, and watching them struggle to make a living in America often left me helpless and frustrated. I turned that frustration into a determination to change my family’s narrative. I made a promise to myself to create my own path and not rest until I had done exactly that.

I started an independent record label while in high school and a few years later, I was traveling to different corners of the world to perform and record my music. At the age of 25, days before leaving for an overseas tour, I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure during a routine medical check up. I spent the next 8 months fighting for my life, before eventually receiving a kidney transplant from my father.

After making a full recovery, I decided to pivot my business and dive into the world of marketing and advertising. Ultimately, though I loved music I realized that my true passion was in turning ideas into businesses and helping others scale and grow.

Today, I split the majority of my time between running GRC, a digital growth agency focused on scaling early stage companies and Sanyal Capital Group, a real estate investment group in the NYC Metro region. When I’m not shuttling between New York City and San Francisco, I spend my time at the MoMA, playing golf with my homies and watching Desus and Mero.
